This is the day for the “bucket list” passes.

Common Questions

Everything You Need to Know

To get that famous “looking down” photo of Khau Coc Cha, it’s about a 30-40 minute hike uphill. It’s a bit steep and can be slippery if it’s rained, so good shoes are a must. If you aren’t up for the hike, the view from the road itself is still incredible.

Definitely. The Tay and Nung often live in stilt houses or the unique stone houses you’ll see on Day 1. The Lo Lo people have a very distinct style of dress and different architectural traditions. Part of the 4-day loop is experiencing these subtle shifts in culture as we move west.

Since these are remote border areas, permits are technically required for foreigners. However, we handle all the registration with the local border guard stations as part of your tour price. Just have your passport handy.

It’s a section of road near Tinh Tuc that forms a perfect “N” shape on the mountainside. It’s a favorite for drone pilots and photographers because of the sharp, rhythmic geometry of the road.

For the 4-day tour, we use reliable, well-maintained bikes like the Honda XR150L or Honda CB500X. These are built for the mountain passes and provide enough comfort for the longer saddle time required on this expedition.
